We are excited to have Raymond, a MolBio graduate student, rotate in the Mesa lab!

9/2026 | Mesa lab joins the Weill Cancer Hub East!

The Mesa lab joins and receives funding from the new Weill Cancer Hub East. This will allow us to investigate immune cell / cancer dynamics using intravital multiphoton microscopy, and will enable new collaboration with researchers of the hub coming from the Rockefeller University, Weill Cornell Medicine and Princeton University including the Ludwig Princeton Branch.

8/2026 | Lab receives NIAID DP2 New Innovator Award!

We have received the DP2 New Innovator Award from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious! We will use these funds to uncover how the immune system orchestrates local stem cell programs to drive multi-tissue regeneration in mammals.

7/2026 | Chunyan awarded Moore Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship!

Chunyan was selected for support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation Postdoctoral Commitment Program in Cellular Biology. Congratulations to Chunyan!

First preprint from the lab, led by Chunyan Fu. Regulatory T cells are selectively recruited to regenerating but not scarring mouse digit tips, driving macrophage-mediated bone remodeling essential for regrowth. A new axis of innate/adaptive immune cooperation in mammalian regeneration!
